Who We Are
About LustreRx
Pharmacist-backed skincare—where ingredient science meets everyday glow.
Hi, I’m Sara—a clinical pharmacist with a long-standing love for skincare. LustreRx is where those two worlds finally meet: the clinical training that taught me how to evaluate evidence, and the personal curiosity that had me reading ingredient lists like they were a second language.
I created LustreRx because skincare advice can feel… loud. Trends move fast, recommendations conflict, and it’s easy to end up with a routine that’s expensive, complicated, and irritating. My goal is to bring a calmer approach—one that’s grounded in evidence, respectful of the skin barrier, and built for real people with real schedules.
Why my pharmacist background matters in skincare
Pharmacy training teaches you how to look past the marketing and ask the questions that actually change outcomes:
- What’s the active ingredient—and what does it do in the skin?
- Is there human clinical evidence, or is it mostly hype/in-vitro data?
- How should it be used (dose, frequency, layering) to be effective and tolerated?
- Who should be cautious (especially if skin is sensitive, reactive, or easily inflamed)?
A big part of my work as a pharmacist is learning how to read clinical studies—how they’re designed, what “results” really mean, and what limitations matter. That skill translates beautifully to skincare, where the difference between “promising” and “proven” can be the difference between steady progress and months of irritation.
I’m not just interested in this clinically—I’m in it personally. I’ve struggled with acne and dark spots, and I’ve tried my fair share of products and devices over the years. That experience shaped the way I write: I care about what works, but I care just as much about what’s realistic, what’s tolerable, and what won’t leave you feeling like your skin is constantly “recovering.”
What you’ll find here
On LustreRx, you’ll find:
- Ingredient deep dives (what it is, how it works, who it helps, and who should be careful)
- Routine guides that prioritize results without wrecking your barrier
- Product recommendations chosen for smart formulations—not hype
- Clinically relevant tips for a range of skin types and concerns (acne-prone, sensitive, hyperpigmentation, early aging, and more)
My promise is simple: you’ll always get clear explanations, evidence-forward guidance, and routines that feel doable—not overwhelming.
Quick note: LustreRx is for general education and isn’t medical advice. If you’re dealing with severe acne, persistent irritation, or sudden changes in your skin, it’s always worth checking in with a dermatologist or your healthcare provider.
Warmly,
Sara, PharmD, RPh
